In this paper, we address the problem of distributed interference management of femtocells that share the same frequency band with macrocells using distributed multi‐agent Q‐learning. We formulate and solve two problems representing two different Q‐learning algorithms, namely, femto‐based distributed and sub‐carrier‐based distributed power controls using Q‐learning (FBDPC‐Q and SBDPC‐Q). FBDPC‐Q is a multi‐agent algorithm that works on a global basis, for example, deals with the aggregate macrocell and femtocell capacities. Its complexity increases exponentially with the number of sub‐carriers in the system. Also, it does not take into consideration the sub‐carrier macrocell capacity as a constraint. To overcome these problems, SBDPC‐Q is proposed, which is a multi‐agent algorithm that works on a sub‐carrier basis, for example, sub‐carrier macrocell and femtocell capacities. Each of FBDPC‐Q and SBDPC‐Q works in three different learning paradigms: independent (IL), cooperative (CL), and weighted cooperative (WCL). IL is considered the simplest form for applying Q‐learning in multi‐agent scenarios, where all the femtocells learn independently. CL and WCL are the proposed schemes in which femtocells share partial information during the learning process in order to strike a balance between practical relevance and performance. We prove the convergence of the CL paradigm when used in the FBDPC‐Q algorithm. We show via simulations that the CL paradigm outperforms the IL paradigm in terms of the aggregate femtocell capacity, especially in networks with large number of femtocells and large number of power levels. In addition, we propose WCL to address the CL limitations. Finally, we evaluate the robustness and scalability of both FBDPC‐Q and SBDPC‐Q, against several typical dynamics of plausible wireless scenarios (fading, path loss, random activity of femtocells, etc.). We show that the CL paradigm is the most scalable to large number of femtocells and robust to the network dynamics compared with the IL and WCL paradigms. The properties of one-dimensional periodic and quasiperiodic photonic crystals with a defect layer have been investigated. Transfer matrix method (TMM) has been used throughout this study. For periodic photonic crystals, results demonstrate the independence of the defect mode frequency on the defect layer while the defect mode transmission coefficient varies with the position of the defect layer position. On the other hand, defect mode frequency is not that responsive to the index of refraction of the defect layer. The quality factor of the defect mode has been studied as a function of the defect layer position as well as its thickness. For quasiperiodic photonic crystals, the frequency of the defect mode is very sensitive to the defect layer position as well as its thickness. An enhancement of the quality factor of the defect mode has been observed. This study may be valuable in designing optical devices and it may also provide a more accurate method to measure the index of refraction.  相似文献

Following the development of a high-throughput (HT) methodology for the evaluation of diesel soot oxidation catalysts in a 16 parallel channels reactor, a library of over 60 catalysts was tested under optimized conditions. The catalyst compositions were chosen to include solids which specific properties like oxygen storage capacity, oxygen mobility and ionic conductivity. The key parameters for high activity appear related to the presence of active and mobile surface oxygen species, and to an appropriate catalyst particle size in order to favour the number of contacts with the soot. In contrast, high oxygen storage capacity and bulk oxygen ion mobility do not appear as relevant properties for high catalytic activity. Nine new formulations were found to perform better than the reference catalyst “high surface area (HSA) ceria” (Rhodia).  相似文献

The influences of variations in some of the kinetics parameters affecting the reactivity insertion are considered in this study, it has been accomplished in order to acquire knowledge about the role that kinetic parameters play in prompt critical transients from the safety point of view. The kinetics parameters variations are limited to the effective delayed neutron fraction (βeff) and the prompt neutron generation time (Λ). The reactor thermal behaviors under the variations in effective delayed neutron fraction and prompt neutron generation time included, the reactor power, maximum fuel temperature, maximum clad temperature, maximum coolant temperature and the mass flux variations at the hot channel. The analysis is done for a typical swimming pool, plate type research reactor with low enriched uranium. The scram system is disabled during the accidents simulations. Calculations were done using PARET code. As a result of simulations, it is concluded that, the reactor (ETRR2) thermal behavior is considerably more sensitive to the variation in the effective delayed neutron fraction than to the variation in prompt neutron generation time and the fast reactivity insertion in both cases causes a flow expansion and contraction at the hot channel exit. The amplitude of the oscillated flow is a qualitatively increases with the decrease in both βeff and Λ.  相似文献

The SLIF project combines text-mining and image processing to extract structured information from biomedical literature.SLIF extracts images and their captions from published papers. The captions are automatically parsed for relevant biological entities (protein and cell type names), while the images are classified according to their type (e.g., micrograph or gel). Fluorescence microscopy images are further processed and classified according to the depicted subcellular localization.The results of this process can be queried online using either a user-friendly web-interface or an XML-based web-service. As an alternative to the targeted query paradigm, SLIF also supports browsing the collection based on latent topic models which are derived from both the annotated text and the image data.The SLIF web application, as well as labeled datasets used for training system components, is publicly available at http://slif.cbi.cmu.edu.  相似文献

The paper reports the results of an extensive numerical simulation to estimate the elastic buckling pressure and the corresponding thrust and bending moment induced in loosely fitted thin liners. The study is conducted numerically using a two-dimensional (2D) non-linear finite element model that accounts for the effects of large deformations on the stability of loosely fitted liners. The finite element results together with a non-linear multi-variant regression analysis are used to develop simplified non-dimensional formulae that provide the critical pressure, thrust and bending moments, at buckling, based on the liner’s geometry and material properties.In addition, several other analytical and numerical solutions for the same problem are revisited and critically reviewed. For comparison purposes, two of such methods are extended to allow for the calculation of the thrust and bending moment developed at the most heavily stressed point in the loosely fitted liners at the onset of buckling. In general, the comparison reveals the appropriateness of the proposed regression models in predicting the critical pressure and the associated thrust and bending moment induced in imperfect loosely fitted liners. Developed formulae provide designers with a simple and reliable means for ensuring stability and safety of such special type of structures.  相似文献

A novel multi‐component system containing poly(vinyl alcohol), lithium bromide, sulfuric acid, ethylene carbonate and hydroquinone was prepared using a solution‐casting technique. The presence of hydroquinone as a reducing agent in the inorganic–organic membrane structure thus produced was thought to lead to enhanced thermal stability of the membrane. The activation energy for the thermal decomposition of the product samples increased with increasing hydroquinone doping. The ionic conductivities of the films were determined from AC impedance measurements in the temperature range 300–373 K. The maximum conductivity was found to be 1.75 × 10?3 S cm?1 for a film doped with 4 wt% hydroquinone. The results give some insight into the potential utility of the membrane as a proton‐conducting solid polymer electrolyte. Copyright © 2011 Society of Chemical Industry  相似文献

We propose a simple scheme for selecting objects (either for caching or picking objects that are peers in a peer-to-peer system) to maximize the long-run reward obtained by a system. Our approach does not require a detailed record of the value specific objects add to the system. Therefore, it can be implemented using less computing and memory resources as compared to machine learning and artificial intelligent algorithms. One of the main contributions we make is to show that one can still derive optimal policies. The model that we use and the policy that we present are both applicable in a variety of contexts.  相似文献

This paper aims at investigating the performance of a cylindrical ion transport reactor designed for oxy‐fuel combustion. The cylindrical reactor walls are made of dense, nonporous, mixed‐conducting ceramic membranes that only allow oxygen permeation from the outside air into the combustion chamber. The sweep gas (CO2 and CH4) enters the reactor from one side and mixes with the oxygen permeate, and the products are discharged from the other side. The process of oxygen permeation through the reactor walls is influenced by the flow condition and composition of air at the feed side (inlet air side) and the gas mixture at the permeate side (sweep gas side). The modeling of the flow process is based on the numerical solution of the conservation equations of mass, momentum, energy, and species in the axisymmetric flow domain. The membrane is modeled as a selective layer in which the oxygen permeation depends on the prevailing temperatures as well as the oxygen partial pressure at both sides of the membrane. The CFD calculations were carried out using fluent 12.1 (ANSYS, Inc., Canonsburg, PA, USA), whereas the mass transfer of oxygen through the membrane is modeled by a set of user defined functions. The model results were validated against previous experimental data, and the comparison showed a good agreement. The study focused on the effect of oxygen partial pressure and temperature on the resulting combustion zones inside the reactor for the two cases of co‐current and counter‐current flow regimes. The results indicated that the oxygen to fuel mass ratio increases as the percentage of CO2 increases in the inflow sweep gas for both co‐current and counter‐current flows. The obtained sweep mixture ratio (CO2/CH4) of 24 is found within the stoichiometric limit over most of the reactor length in the co‐current configuration, whereas the sweep mixture ratio of 15.67 is found in the counter‐current configuration owing to the high O2 permeation. Im vorliegenden Artikel werden die Laboreinrichtungen und Versuche zur Wasserstoff-Schmelzreduktion beschrieben. überlegungen zu einer alternativen Stahlerzeugungsroute auf Basis einer Wasserstoff-Plasma-Schmelzreduktion werden dargelegt und eine SWOT-Analyse durchgeführt.

Summary  Development of hydrogen smelting reduction is an object of research for more than three decades on the Chair of Metallurgy. This paper focuses on laboratory facilities and experiments for the investigation of hydrogen smelting reduction at the Chair of Metallurgy. – Considerations for an alternative steelmaking route based on hydrogen plasma smelting reduction are made and a SWOT analysis is presented.
